My fan is always spinning at 100% speed regardless of setting (auto or manual) and temperature. How to fix that?

@john1166

The fan on the LV06 is a 3 pin fan installed from the factory! The fan controller on the LV06 is designed for a 4 pin fan to work correctly. A 3 pin fan will run full speed regardless of setting.

On my Lucky Miner LV06 there is a 4 pin fan connector. 4 pin fans use a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal wire to control the speed of the fan.

I tested this connector on a fan with a 4 pin connector and it worked as it should. Changing the fan speed on the settings page and pressing save will change the fan speed instantly with a 4 pin fan, there is no need to restart the device.

But you need to get a fan with a lower working voltage as the voltage supplied is only 5 volts! A 12 volt fan may work but with a reduced RPM...

@Ada

The LV05,LV06 miner always runs at 100% fan speed whatever you set.

In LV07 it will work at the speed you set.

@waldman

Hi all, I tried to use the original BitAxe firmware and just bricked my device... =/

Is there any way to recover the original firmware or re-flash using USB/Computer/Anything?

I'm comfortable soldering stuff and know a thing or two about flashing firmwares... I just couldn't find any port nor anything that looked like a serial/usb connection.

Any help would be much appreciated (and yes... I do have some Sats to send if I can get this device back on-line! =] )

@phil31

please can you provide the web site bin too ?

@Ada

Sorry we did not public the websit bin file due to a high operation failure rate.

@Tera

And... How much time need for the "Engeneer" to make the new firmware update with fixes of the wi-fi reconnection and fan speed automations ? May be the year of hard working and thinking ?

@Ada

There will be the firmware with wifi reconnection function, if this is the demand of most users.

In LV07 it will work with fan speed automations.

@Tucho

Hello!

I show you my LV06 mod. The problem it had is that the bottom part of the chip got very hot. This caused the current it consumed (mA) to increase and restart the miner. I solved it using 3 levels of 2mm thermal pads due to the different heights of the components, and I put a giant heatsink along with an 80mm fan. Comparing firmwares 2.1, 2.3 and 2.1.3, the best of all was 2.3 very stable. I didn't try using the maximum overclock since that's how I like.

The hashrate ranges between 300 and 600 GH with 550 MHZ and 1250mV As seen in the stats.

I shouldn't have any problem with this mod, mostly because the heatsink is oversized for the dissipation it needs.

I share some images of what the mod looks like. It's not pretty but it works wonderfully XD

@Bogard

I really like the mod you made even though I see it as somewhat rudimentary but functional, I was thinking of doing something similar but my idea was just to put a heatsink on the outside of the miner's casing, believing that if the temperature drops or it will only make the casing does not get so hot

@phil31

hi,

weel since i have my LV06, v2.1, he reboot several time ( maybe 100 / day !) each days :(

i tried with the 2.3 fw, same !

the ASIC temperature is not so big, something like 40°C !

i tried your solution but nothing better.

what was your asic temperature before your mod ?

@Tucho

The temperature hit 78ºC (with underclock 60-something) before and now it is 42-44 c. But the problem was the components under the chip, those did get very hot and restarted with "0 MH" before restarting the consumption of W hit 30W... very strange, but this happens when some components overheat.

Here is an approximate drawing of the layers of the thermal pads

Due to the different heights of the components I had to do it this way, the first layer covers the smallest components, the second layer covers those of medium height and the third covers the last one. The drawing is not exact, it is an example of how I did it. For layer 1 and 2 I used 2mm thermal pads for the third layer, I don't remember if it was a 1 or 0.5 mm pad.

To do this it is very important that the components are all covered correctly, with just 1 layer you will not achieve good results. In my case the problem was the bottom part, since being in the case, the plastic got very hot. And to heat the plastic that much, the components of the board have to be really VERY hot.

I don't know if this information will be useful to you, but check the temperature under the board, surely some component gets very hot.

@phil31

thanks for your reply !

strange, i don't notice any overheating .. more or less 40°C without the mod ..

but the device reboot sevral sevral time each days !..

will try to check individualy component on bottom ..

Thanks for sharing!

How did you open your unit if I may ask?

See the video here.

@Tucho

Here are the 2 locks that you have to push, but be careful they can break. It was difficult to open the first time

@phil31

how to have this stats web page ? where is the update of the web site ?

@Ada

Enter the IP address displays on the device into the browser's URL bar, and then you can access the settings page. At the bottom of the settings page, there are firmware update options.

@Tucho

The blue background are the stats of the Lucky Miner from its dashboard (from IP) the stats in the white background are from the pool where I am mining (luckymonster.pro)

@Adamox

Hello. Cannot be controlled Automatic Fan Control spins at max.

@Ada

LV07 will improve it.

@vistos

Okay, lucky miner is now updated to v2.3.0 but I receive error message in logs:

bm1366Module: Serial RX invalid 11

Lucky miner is not mining.

@Ada

Show me the setting page,please.

@neremicheva

Thanks ! It works, it was updated very quickly and without problems.

@shabashovoleg41

@Ada

LV07 can configure this function. But LV06 without, sorry!

@celiaco365

hola, soy nuevo en esto, cuando voy a configurar el lv06 en la web, subo el archivo del firmare y sigue sin funcionar, que solución tiene??

@Ada

I hope you've solved the problem. If not, contact  whatsup/wechat/telegram: +86 13688384591

@m.uhlmann.zwickau

Can I use this for the LV05 ?

@yaote1010

yes, my LV05 update v2.3.0 successfully and work fine.

@fabriciosantos.lem

Arquivo www.bin?

@Ada

No,dear. Its esp-miner.bin file for "Update Firmware".

@satexpert

Working ok. thanks.
